The 2025 8th Grade Graduation at SAA was a beautiful and meaningful event that celebrated not only academic achievement but also personal growth, community, and the start of high school for 33 graduating students.
For parents, prospective families, and anyone wondering what happens at SAA’s 8th Grade Graduation, here’s a recap of the event.
At SAA, 8th Grade Graduation 2025 wasn’t simply about handing out diplomas. Each of the 33 graduates received a personalized tribute, honoring their unique contributions, talents, and growth during their middle school years. These heartfelt recognitions from their families are a signature part of the SAA 8th Grade Graduation tradition, giving families a special moment to celebrate their child’s journey.
Many families, friends, and teachers were visibly moved as students were honored for their achievements, character, and the friendships they built throughout middle school.
During the ceremony, select students received high school scholarships, recognizing their academic performance, community service, and other honors. These scholarships represent SAA’s commitment to encouraging students as they transition from middle school into the next stage of their academic careers at high school.
The 2025 8th Grade Class Gift was both thoughtful and practical: a brand-new bench placed outside the school’s front entrance. Future middle school students will enjoy a comfortable place to sit while waiting for their rides after school. This gift reflects the class’s ongoing spirit of kindness and consideration for those who will follow in their footsteps. It’s a gift that replaces a bench that was apparently broken by Mr. D. There was some heartfelt ribbing about that.
No 8th Grade Graduation would feel complete without music. This year, students performed four musical numbers, showcasing the depth of talent that SAA continues to nurture through its strong performing arts program. The music added joy and reflection to the evening’s graduation celebration.

In his keynote address, Mr. Andrew Leung challenged students with a simple but profound truth: “You can choose your future.” His message reminded graduates that while life brings both challenges and opportunities, the choices they make each day will shape who they become. The theme perfectly fit this transitional moment as students stood up, right after his speech, to graduate 8th grade and enter high school.
Following the formal ceremony, families gathered for group photos, hugs, and celebration. Cookies and juice were served as parents and teachers reminisced, laughed, and shared pride in seeing these students complete their middle school journey.
