At Sacramento Adventist Academy, we are passionate about the performing arts as a key aspect of a comprehensive education.   • Private Lessons: Students receive personalized instruction in piano and strings, tailored to enhance both individual skills and ensemble performance capabilities.
  • Ensembles:
    • Handbells: A unique ensemble where students learn the intricacies of handbell ringing, fostering musical timing and teamwork.
    • Band: Students develop instrumental skills that are showcased in school concerts and community events.
    • Choirs:
      • General Choir: Cultivates vocal talents and a love for diverse musical genres.
      • Specialty Choir: Offers advanced vocal challenges, enhancing students’ performance in complex compositions.
  • Music Appreciation: Through these classes, students explore various musical styles and histories, deepening their understanding and appreciation of music.
  • Spring Musical Play: Each spring, our students have the opportunity to participate in a full-scale musical play. This production allows students to experience the thrill of live performance, integrating skills from their music classes and beyond.

High School Music & Performing Arts

The high school music program builds upon a robust foundation, offering advanced training and expansive performance opportunities in a variety of musical disciplines. Our offerings include:

  • Choir: Students explore a broad range of musical styles, enhancing their vocal techniques and performance skills.
  • Bel Canto: An award-winning specialty choir recognized for its complex performances and vocal mastery, with the prestigious invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in spring 2025.
  • Orion Sound (Handbells): This advanced handbell ensemble challenges students with intricate arrangements, fostering teamwork and musical accuracy.
  • Band: Participants engage with a diverse symphonic and concert repertoire, developing comprehensive instrumental skills.
  • Orchestra: Provides opportunities for string musicians to perform classical and contemporary works, promoting a deep understanding of orchestral music.
  • Jazz Band: Focuses on jazz genres from traditional swing to modern improvisation, highlighting individual creativity within a group dynamic.
  • Spring Musical: Every spring, our students showcase their talents in a full-scale musical production. This event combines skills from across our music and performing arts departments, offering a platform for students to shine in a professionally staged performance.
