Campus Ministries at Sacramento Adventist Academy: Where Faith and Service Meet

At Sacramento Adventist Academy, our campus ministries play a crucial role. We focus on growing in our faith and reaching out to help others. Here’s what makes our program unique and impactful:

Weekly Chapel Services

Every Friday, we gather to connect and reflect:

  • Grade-Specific Chapels: We hold three separate chapel services, tailored for different age groups, ensuring that the messages and activities are age-appropriate.
  • All-School Chapels: Occasionally, the entire school comes together for a special chapel. This is a time for all of us, from the youngest to the oldest, to unite in worship and fellowship.  Some of our favorite times are during our Weeks of Prayer.

Student Leadership in Worship

Our students are at the forefront of leading worship:

  • Worship Teams: Students plan and lead the music during our chapel services.
  • Weekly Devotionals: Our student worship team writes and shares a devotional with the school every week, offering spiritual insights and encouragement.

Learning and Growing in Faith

We offer a variety of learning opportunities through our campus ministries:

  • Bible and Baptismal Studies: Led by local pastors and our school chaplain, these sessions are available to all students interested in deepening their understanding of the Bible and our faith.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Students have the opportunity to receive personal mentorship from experienced spiritual leaders.

Community and Global Service

Service is a core component of our campus ministries:

  • Community Service: High school students are required to complete community service to graduate. Activities include:
    • Weekly Food Bank Help: Every Wednesday, our 7th and 8th graders assist at a local food bank that supports over 400 families.
  • Global Missions: In partnership with Maranatha International, we engage in:
    • Fundraising: We raise funds for global projects.
    • Mission Trips: Students can participate in mission trips during spring break, helping to build infrastructure like schools and health clinics worldwide.
  • Prayer at the Pole – Parents are invited to pray at the flag pole each morning.

Spiritual Retreats

Our retreats are designed to deepen connections and enhance spiritual life:

  • Annual Retreats at Camp Leoni: These retreats offer a mix of fun activities and thoughtful reflection. Here’s what we typically do:
    • Team-building Activities: Helps strengthen our sense of community.
    • Worship Sessions: Facilitated discussions and worship sessions to explore our faith.
    • Outdoor Adventures: Engaging with nature through hikes and outdoor games.
